The Home Preservation Supervisor is responsible for evaluating, selecting and managing residential home repair projects, ensuring cost, scheduling and quality standards are met. The supervisor directly supervises volunteer work teams onsite and must be mindful of their diverse abilities by assigning work that can be accomplished successfully.
Responsibilities: Evaluates projects, estimates cost and scheduling and manages work from start to finish; oversees the scheduling and supervision of volunteers of varying skill levels; coordinates and oversees activities of subcontractors; negotiates with suppliers and vendors; orders materials; communicates scope of work to homeowners; maintains accurate records; works with local building departments and inspectors; creates a positive, safe and productive work environment for volunteers, staff and homeowners; performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications: Must have at least 4 years of experience in residential construction and home maintenance, including supervisory experience; must be able to determine scope of work, set budget and work out scheduling; must be able to take a project from evaluation to completion; must have excellent math, computer and written and verbal communication skills; must be able to assess capabilities of others and teach construction techniques to unskilled volunteers; be organized; have a working knowledge of OSHA safety standards. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as well as be able to pass background check and drug screen. Will be required to achieve OSHA Competent Person certification.
